What is PBIS?

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a researched-based framework for teaching and supporting positive behavior for ALL students. This school-wide approach focuses on building a safe and positive environment in which all students can learn.

What will PBIS look like at Alpenglow?

  • Clear, consistent expectations for behavior across all school settings
  • Explicitly teaching expected behaviors the same way we teach academic skills
  • Frequent praise for expected behaviors
  • Common language used by all staff
  • Safe learning environments to promote academic success
