The JNYO club is open to students in first through sixth grades who are interested in practicing the various native games we have learned in PE class.  There will be an opportunity to students to compete in an Eagle River/Chugiak event on February 10, 2018.  (More information will be provided at the club meetings.)  There will also be an Alaska state competition held the weekend of February 23 - 25, 2018, for students who qualify.

During club practices students can practice all the events but will be encouraged to focus on an event for their age level.  First and second grade students can compete in the seal hop, kneel jump, and Eskimo stick pull.  Third and fourth graders can compete in the two foot high kick, arm pull, and wrist carry.  The fifth and sixth grade students can participate in the Eskimo stick pull, Alaskan high kick, and the one foot high kick.

Please remember that all extra-curricular clubs are a privilege.  Students must follow rules and be respectful of others and the equipment to continue their participation.  Additionally students must be on time (not early for morning practices) and be picked up at the end of practice by 4:15 PM on Wednesdays.
